Commission Your Own Calligraphy – Let the Moment Speak

— A one-of-a-kind piece created just for you —

“Sometimes, a single line can shift the landscape of your life.”

In the quiet moments of everyday life, a single phrase on the wall can gently offer us strength.

Something to anchor us. Something to remind us of who we are.

Each custom-made piece by Fuh-mi begins not with a brush, but with a conversation.

Whether the work is for yourself or for someone special, we begin by discovering the words that matter most to you—right now, in this season of your life.

Rooted in the spirit of ichigo ichie—“one time, one meeting”—each commission is more than a product. It’s a reflection of a moment that will never come again, shaped quietly through conversation.

While most pieces are created as traditional hanging scrolls (kakejiku), I also welcome special requests such as canvas or board formats.

Brand Collaborations & Cultural Projects

In addition to custom works for individuals, Fuh-mi also collaborates with companies, brands, and cultural institutions—providing calligraphy artworks and concepts for exhibitions, spatial installations, media, and creative campaigns.

Her approach goes beyond surface visuals. Each project is shaped by a deep process of dialogue and discovery, using calligraphy not only as art, but as philosophy—expressing the essence of a message in its most distilled form.

Selected past collaborations include:

  • ELLE’s 80th Anniversary Traveling Exhibition (Expo 2025 Osaka → Bangkok → New York → Paris), including artwork and guest talk

  • LEGO “Hokusai” podcast, exploring Japanese aesthetics and culture

  • Joint exhibitions and publications with contemporary art galleries and journals

  • Logo design consulting rooted in the sensibility of Japanese calligraphy

Whether it’s a spatial installation, product design, film typography, or something entirely unique, Fuh-mi brings deep cultural insight and cross-disciplinary creativity to every collaboration.

Selected Client Stories

📌 Case 1|For a Newly Opened Dōjō

“Fudōshin” – The Immovable Mind

Commissioned by the founder of a newly established martial arts dōjō, this scroll was created to serve as a spiritual anchor for both students and teachers. Through dialogue, we explored the philosophy behind the practice—ultimately arriving at fudōshin, a word that embodies inner stillness and unwavering resolve.

Rendered with deliberate simplicity and calm energy, the final piece reflects not only the essence of martial discipline, but also the unique moment of beginning—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter between calligrapher, word, and place.

📌 Case 2|For Workplace Motivation

“Mugen” – Infinity

Commissioned by a tech company seeking a work that reflected their spirit of innovation and limitless potential. Through thoughtful exchange, the word mugen—meaning “infinity”—emerged as the most resonant expression of their values.

To align with their forward-thinking identity, the calligraphy was digitized and 3D printed, transforming traditional ink into a sculptural form. The result is a bold fusion of heritage and technology—an artwork rooted in timeless philosophy, created for a singular moment in the company’s journey.

📌 Case 3|To Celebrate a CEO Appointment

“Kokorozashi” – Aspiration

This piece was commissioned as a meaningful gift from an international executive to a newly appointed CEO.

Through our conversations, we explored words that could carry both personal and professional significance. The character kokorozashi—often translated as “aspiration” or “noble purpose”—was chosen to reflect the recipient’s values, leadership vision, and the pivotal moment in their journey.

Created with sincerity and focus, the final scroll stands as both a gesture of deep respect and a quiet wish for the path ahead.

A Final Note: Let Words Light the Space

Calligraphy is not simply for decoration.

It is a way to light a small fire—

one that quietly transforms the atmosphere,

and settles the mind.

Every piece I create is shaped through a singular encounter.

A moment shared, never to be repeated—yet remembered in ink.

Whether it’s for your home, your office, or someone close to you,

I’d be honored to create something just for you.
