My Experience at the ELLE 80th Anniversary Exhibition at Expo 2025

This year, ELLE is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a traveling exhibition that began at Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai. The exhibition brings together 31 women artists from around the world—each sharing their unique vision and energy through art.

I was honored to be among the participating artists, and even more so to be invited for a live public interview during the opening week. The session, held in front of ELLE's partners and licensees, was not just a personal milestone but a collective celebration of creative spirit, resilience, and identity.

One thing that struck me deeply about the exhibition was the presence of femininity in all its forms. Not a singular definition, but a rich spectrum—graceful, fierce, quiet, raw. In an age where gender discussions are becoming more nuanced (or in some cases, dismissed), this exhibition reminds us why female perspectives still deserve intentional space. After all, this whole project would not exist without them.

For years, I believed I was better with brush than with voice. But to my surprise, I found a different kind of expression through spoken words—natural, grounded, and perhaps even necessary. I’m grateful to those who listened and responded with kindness, and to the organizers for creating a platform where dialogue matters as much as display.

The ELLE 80th Anniversary Exhibition will travel to Bangkok, New York, and Paris later this year. The works will later be auctioned through ARTCURIAL. The catalog is now available here - and yes, anyone can participate.

And here, you can read an official article on ELLE digital (in Japanese).

Thank you to everyone who made this experience unforgettable. And if you’re visiting Expo 2025, I hope you’ll stop by and see what 31 voices look like when expressed in form, color, and soul. (until Aug. 11th)
